About this event
Chopper Fest returns for its 9th year — a three-day helicopter funfly hosted by the Ionia County Model Club at Walter RC Park in Saranac, Michigan, June 5–7, 2026. All skill levels are welcome, from your first hovers to full-send 3D. Fly off a big 600' x 300' runway alongside scale, sport, and 3D pilots all weekend, and camp right on the flightline. Walter RC Park is an FAA-Recognized Identification Area (FRIA), so you can fly here without Remote ID equipment. The $25 landing fee is all-in: it covers flightline camping plus a pilot's lunch and a pilot's dinner on Saturday. A current AMA membership is required to fly — bring your card. AMA sanction #19730.
