For sponsors

Grab the Gold.

Sponsor tiers on RCHeliEvents aren't locked thresholds — they're positions. Whoever contributes the most holds Gold. Next-highest holds Silver. Then Bronze. Beat the top sponsor by even a dollar and the spot is yours — we email them as soon as you do.

1 · Set up your sponsor profile

Your sponsor profile is the company info that appears on every event page you back — name, industry, website, logo, contact, short bio. Fill it once, every future sponsorship reuses it.

  1. 1
Sign up at /signup?role=sponsor (or pick Sponsor from the chip selector on the normal signup page).
  2. 2
After verifying your email, you land on /sponsors/account. You'll be prompted to Fill in profile.
  3. 3
Enter company name, industry (Hobby Shop, Batteries, Components, Apparel, etc.), website, contact name + email + phone, and a short bio that pilots will see in your sponsor card on the event page. Save the profile, then upload your company logo — it shows on your sponsor cards and powers the Gold acknowledgment (below). A transparent PNG looks best.
Hold Gold? You get a floating acknowledgment
When you're the top contributor on an event, your logo appears in a tasteful floating card on that event's page — "Gold sponsor," your name, and a link straight to your site. It rides along as pilots read the event details and links right to your business. Upload a logo to light it up; without one, you still hold the Gold podium spot, just without the floating card.

Find — or claim — your brand

Every RC brand and shop is in the public /sponsors directory: searchable tiles, ranked by how much each has sponsored across events, each with logo, info, and website in a tap.

See your business already listed? Tap Claim brandon its tile. A platform admin reviews each claim (same as claiming a club) — once approved you own that profile, or join the team as a member if it already has an owner. No need to create a duplicate. Your brand might be here because it's a well-known name we pre-seeded, or because an event organizer added you when they credited a sponsorship — either way, claiming it is the same, and any contribution already recorded on an event stays put. Don't see your brand? Set up a fresh one from /sponsors/signup.

Sponsoring needs a free account
Like registering for events, sponsoring and claiming a brand require a (free) account — that's what ties the brand to you so you can manage it. A signed-out visitor who taps Be a sponsor is sent to sign in first.

2 · Back an event

You can sponsor with cash, product, or both. Both count toward the same tier ranking — a $5,000 product donation outranks a $1,500 cash sponsor. Value is value.

  1. 1
Browse /events, click into an event you want to back.
  2. 2
Tap Be a sponsor(signing in if you haven't). If you don't have a brand yet, we walk you through creating one first — just a name to start. Then the form shows a live tier preview on the right — type an amount and watch where you'd land ("Type $1,501 to take Gold").
  3. 3
    Pick Cash or Product.
    • Cash: enter the dollar amount. Once card payment ships, you'll be charged immediately and your sponsorship auto-approves. Today, the organizer marks it approved when they confirm the funds.
    • Product: describe what you're sending (model, value, tracking #). The organizer reviews + approves when it arrives. If you're handing it off in person at the event, ask them to bypass approval with a reason.
  4. 4
    Hit Submit sponsorship. You're in.
Bumped? You'll know.
When another sponsor tops your contribution and bumps you down a tier, we email you instantly with the new threshold. You can up your contribution any time to retake the position.

3 · Your sponsor dashboard

/sponsors/account lists every event you've backed — upcoming and past. Each row shows status (pending / approved / rejected), kind (money / product), effective value, and the event date range. Click a row to jump to the public event page.

Want to edit your profile (new logo, new contact)? Click Sponsor profile in the sidebar — changes propagate to every event you're backing.

4 · Share your profile with teammates

A sponsor profile can be a team. From Sponsor profile, the owner adds teammates by searching for them by name (they need a free account first). Everyone on the team can sponsor events as the brand; the owner edits the profile, the logo, and manages the team.

  1. 1
Add a teammate: in the Team section, search for them by name and click Add member.
  2. 2
Create another brand: use the Create another brand button on your sponsor dashboard to set up a second (or third) sponsor profile. Each brand has its own profile, logo, and team.
  3. 3
Switch between brands:a brand switcher appears at the top of your profile and dashboard. When backing an event, the sponsor form lets you pick which brand you're sponsoring as.
  4. 4
Avoid doubles:the dashboard shows who submitted each sponsorship ("Added by …"), and if your brand already sponsors an event the form warns you before a second submission.
  5. 5
Hand it off: the owner can make a member the new owner (Make owner), or a member can Request ownership for an admin to approve — handy when the original owner leaves the company.
  6. 6
Leave a brand: the Team section on the Sponsor profile page has a Leave this brandcontrol if you claimed or joined one you no longer want. The sole owner has to hand off ownership first so the brand isn't orphaned.

How tier ranking works

Three positions per event: Gold, Silver, Bronze. Sponsors below the top three are listed but don't get a tier badge.

Ranking is by effective contribution = cash amount + product value. Ties are broken by who got there first (first contribution timestamp wins).

Why positional, not threshold
Fixed-threshold sponsorship ladders (e.g. "$1,500 = Gold") stop being interesting once anyone hits the top. Positional tiers stay competitive all the way through — the top sponsor is always watching whether someone's about to bump them.
Install the app for on-the-go access
Add RCHeliEvents to your phone's home screen (iPhone: Safari → Share → Add to Home Screen; Android: Chrome → Install app) to track the events you back and your tier standings from anywhere — it works offline too.
